Belgian malionis, also know as belgian shepherd, are a breed of dog that originated in Belgium. They are use as guide dogs, police dogs, rescue dogs and assistance dogs.


They are medium-size athletic breed with males weighing between 25 and 30 pound and females weighing between 20 and 25 pounds. They have a distinctive, appearance, with long, slender head with triangular, upright ears rounded at the bottom and a long, narrow but balanced muzzle. Their coat is usually a combination of brown and black.


They are know for their intelligence, alert, sensitive and protective instincts. They are considered a very active breed because of their qualities. This breed also has protective feelings that make them faithful guardis of their homes. Therefore, it is not surprising that they are also use as an additional aid to the police in research and also assistance.
